Zayed Humanitarian Library (ZHL) is one of the pioneering initiatives of the Year of Zayed in service of the society, and is a unique library of type as being offered by the Family Development Foundation (FDF) to its audience and the beneficiaries of its programs so that they would embrace knowledge in a new form on the level of the UAE and the Arab region, where a visitor to the Library can borrow and acquire knowledge in the presence of a “human being" who is the “book" in this scenario, to enrich us with his rich and wealthy human experiences and knowledge in the form of an intellectual wealth that is to be added to the rich knowledge of the reader. Because there is inside every one of us a book that contains a lot of information that can be availed of by others by borrowing the human being, not the book, as we have been used to do, the idea of “Zayed Humanitarian Library (ZHL)" has been coined as a new source of inspiring human knowledge.

The Library is a cultural and knowledge-based place that aims to support all the individuals of the community in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi by hosting the most prominent creative persons in the UAE and the Arab homeland, as well as the provision of the latest issued works of the pioneers and of books for those who are looking for advancement and children development. Furthermore, it is a cultural salon that brings together various experienced persons for the exchange of creative and innovative ideas, where creative persons and library pioneers meet together in a collective effort for inspiration and the creation of change for a better future for the generations.​
