The participants of a seminar, titled, "Zayed: The Memory of the Place and the Time," highlighted the key role of Emirati women in the UAE’s development and the support given to them by the wise leadership since the era of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
They made this statement during the Emirati Women’s Day celebrations organised by the Family Development Foundation, FDF, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), and under the slogan "Women on the Footsteps of Zayed."
In her speech at the FDF’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director-General of the FDF, expressed her happiness at celebrating the day when the entire country commemorates Emirati women, mothers, working women and inspiring women.
She added that the celebrations are being held in the same place where Sheikh Zayed inaugurated as the first headquarters of the Women Renaissance Association in Abu Dhabi on 8th February, 1973, which then became the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Women Renaissance Association, and in 2006, it became one of the centres of the FDF.
The seminar, which was chaired by Sheikha Al Jaberi, FDF Media Advisor, and was attended by the female employees of the foundation who use to work for the Abu Dhabi Women Renaissance Association, included the speakers, Mona Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Portal Centre; Salma Al Yahyaei, Director of the Al Waqn Centre, and Badriya Saif Al Qubaisi, Programmes and Events Officer at the Al Wathba Centre.
On the sidelines of the celebrations, the FDF organised a series of events and activities that included exhibitions highlighting the talents and innovations of Emirati women working for the FDF.
